Background
Samra is thirteen years old and studies in grade 5. She lives in a family of five with her two sisters and a brother. Her father works as a guard at a park, and her mother works as a craftsman from home. Both parents work very hard, yet it is still a challenge to meet all the needs of the family. Life can be difficult at times, but Simra and her siblings help each other and their parents whenever they can.
Samra used to go to another school, but her family could not continue paying the high fees. The cost of books and uniforms made it impossible to continue. Later, they learned about Minor Care, where education and academy facilities are completely free. They visited the school, and Simra was enrolled immediately. She was happy to continue her studies without putting any burden on her family.
Every day after school, Simra goes home to eat her lunch and get ready for the academy. At the academy, she studies, revises her lessons, and learns new things with the help of her teachers. When she returns home in the evening, she helps her mother with her crafts and household work. Her brother also works at a tailor’s shop to learn skills and earn a daily wage of one hundred rupees to help support the family.
Samra has simple joys that make her happy. Her favourite color is pink, and she loves playing ludo with her siblings. She enjoys going to the park, swinging on the swings, and looking at the animals there. Her favourite animal is the lion because she admires its strength and courage.
Despite the challenges she faces, Samra remains determined and focused on her goals. Her biggest dream is to fulfill her mother’s wish for her to become a teacher. She studies hard and works diligently every day, hoping to achieve her dreams. Samra wants to make her parents proud, support her family, and build a bright future for herself and her loved ones.
