A Glimpse Into Their World
Background
Shamoon is in prep and only 8 years old. He works at brick kilns along with his mama and even his younger brother, who is just five. Every day, he is made to work long hours at a very young age, leaving him little time to be a child. His days are long and tiring. He returns home around 10 at night, eats quickly, and goes straight to sleep, only to wake up for school in the morning.
Even with all the work, Shamoon wants to focus on his education. He is determined to study and dreams of learning as much as he can. He likes to eat vegetables and enjoys the color red.
Shamoon is not interested in playing games like other children. His childhood has been taken from him, and he rarely has the chance to relax or enjoy himself. Despite these difficulties, he tries to stay hopeful and continues going to school, holding on to his dream of learning and having a better future.
